Icon Film Distribution has released the official trailer for ‘Fairyland,’ a coming-of-age drama adapted from Alysia Abbott’s best-selling memoir. Produced by Academy Award winner Sofia Coppola, the film paints an intimate portrait of love, identity, and growing up in a world that refuses to sit still.
Set in the kaleidoscopic haze of 1970s San Francisco, the story begins with loss but quickly unfolds into something far more complex and quietly radiant.
After the sudden death of her mother, young Alysia is swept into a new life by her father, Steve, a charismatic dreamer chasing reinvention. San Francisco becomes their playground and proving ground, a city alive with counterculture, creativity, and shifting identities.

Steve embraces his freedom, pursuing writing and relationships with men, but his bohemian lifestyle creates a delicate imbalance. Parenting, it turns out, doesn’t always harmonise with a life lived like jazz improvisation.
As Alysia grows into adulthood, the emotional tide between father and daughter ebbs and surges. What starts as a shared adventure slowly becomes a test of boundaries, responsibility, and unconditional love.
Leading the film is Emilia Jones (CODA, The Running Man), opposite her, Scoot McNairy (A Complete Unknown, C’mon C’mon) embodies Steve’s magnetic yet flawed spirit. They are joined by a vibrant supporting cast, including Cody Fern (American Horror Story), Adam Lambert, bringing musical flair and presence, Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Apprentice), and Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise, Blink Twice).
