We recently had the opportunity to catch up with Ben Affleck and Sienna Miller to discuss Live by Night, but we obviously couldn’t allow the former to escape without asking about The Batman. The actor and director has been fielding questions for weeks now, making it clear that he’ll only take the helm of a solo outing for the Caped Crusader if it feels 100% right.

However, what about Justice League? Affleck has already finished shooting his role as the Caped Crusader in that movieĀ and had this to say about the experience of working on it.

“It was great, and there’s a lot of changes and a lot of new stuff. There was a whole feeling of kind of ‘rebirth’ and there’s an exciting group of actors. You know, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa and guys like that, so much fun, and Gal Gadot who’s great and Henry Cavill. It was a lot of fun.” It’s interesting that he mentions “Rebirth”, as that’s the name of the DC Comics initiative which has relaunched the comic book universe with more hope and optimism.

The same is in the cards for the DC Films Universe after the response of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, so Affleck emphasising that isn’t shocking.

We then put it to Affleck that Sienna Miller would be a great fit for the role of Vicki Vale, and while his Live by Night co-star admitted to not knowing who that is (she’s a reporter and love interest of Bruce Wayne’s), he had some thoughts on that particular casting suggestion!

“She’s perfect for anything. She could do anything. Vicki Vale’s kind of bitchy, I think she’s better for…well, we won’t say that.” Clearly worried about creating a social media uproar by potentially revealing a role he has in mind for her or even the female lead in The Batman, Affleck stopped there, but Miller herself has said she fancies taking on Catwoman…
