In a month’s time the DVD for Morgan Spurlock’s latest delve in the consumer quagmire is released and we can sit back and be not-so-subliminally lambasted with corporate sponsorship as this is both front and centre in the documentarian’s latest quest.
We’ve got a behind the scenes clip from the DVD which has Spurlock talking about the motivation behind the film and we get a few examples of the marketing onslaught in action.
Now Resident Evil: Mane and Tail – that I would pay to see.
Here’s the clip, and there’s a Facebook page if that’s your bag.
Well Jon ly-somthing, u probably don’t know that almost all resident evil teasers start as fake ads for fictive product that focus on where technology is leading this world, why not using a real product this time ?
Because it was not just one product, it was many, they were real products and were very heavily featured, and for a large portion of the trailer. It’s as much an aesthetic problem as anything – it made for a boring trailer. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it (it’s their trailer and they can do what they like), I’m saying I think it’s too much.
