Movies are a fantastic medium for taking audiences both backwards and forwards in time, enabling us to be taken back, or looking forward to what could be possible in decades or even centuries to come.
Our friends at Halfords have put together this fabulous infographic which charts the evolution of car technology throughout the last 120 years. When the car was invented, whoever would have thought that there would be a computer sitting inside your dashboard showing you meter perfect routes to your destination would ever be possible? Now, most new cars will have a sat nav built in alongside a huge plethora of tech that we take for granted.
One day (probably in the not too distant future), our cars will all drive themselves allowing us to hop in an out, state a destination and have the car take us there while we read our electronic newspaper, read a book on a kindle or listen to music through the digital cloud. It’s basically making Demolition Man a reality! We’re just looking forward to the flying DeLorean!

It’s crazy how much cars have changed over the years, I think all this technology is a huge distraction, and I’ve got to be honest I wouldn’t trust a machine to drive my children and I round without any control, let’s hope they have an emergency brake lol
