New blockbuster Everest depicts the real-life drama that unfolded on the top of the highest mountain in the world during one particularly traumatic expedition.
An all-star cast featuring the likes of Jason Clarke, Sam Worthington, Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal are put through their paces by Baltasar Kormakur.
The director from Iceland has made the transition to Hollywood via the likes of 2 Guns and Contraband, the latter of which was a remake of a film that Kormakur starred in.
We spoke about the the challenges of bringing Everest to the screen and of bringing the star cast onto a difficult project like this.
Everest is released nationwide on September 18th
