enola holmes cast interviews

To celebrate the release of Enola Holmes, the newest original film from Netflix, we sat down with some of the cast and its director to find out why a Sherlock Holmes spin-off was needed in 2020.

Based on the book by Nancy Springer, Enola Holmes – if you didn’t guess already – is based around Sherlock’s younger sister Enola (Millie Bobbie Brown) who is not only trying to find her place in the world but also investigating the disappearance of her mother (Helena Bonham Carter), following the clues she may, or may not, have left. As she sets off to find her, brothers Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft (Sam Claflin) are only a few steps behind.

Director Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) spoke to us about the importance of this story in modern times as it deals with things like women’s rights to vote and more, saying he was drawn to this “eccentric feminist adventure”. In addition, co-star Louis Partridge spoke about the lure of his character Lord Viscount Tewksbury and the relationship he shares with Enola, as well as the “genuine, sweet” nature to him.

You can watch the full interviews below:

Enola Holmes is on Netflix from September 23rd.
