This evening the Empire Awards took over the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane and played host to the great and good of the British film industry.

J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars The Force Awakens took home five awards including a nod for Abrams himself as Best Director and Best Male and Female Newcomers for John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.

In sterling fashion Empire gave their Legend award to Alan Rickman, whose sudden loss still startles us and who is very well deserving. George Miller’s Mad Max Fury Road did well in the production categories, while Matt Damon and Alicia Vikander took home the Best Actor and Actress awards.

Our own legends Colin Hart and Cassam Looch were on the carpet to chat to the stars as they arrived (you can also see all our interviews on YouTube here).
