Usually I stay away from covering South Indian movies as I feel I just don’t have the cultural context to understand them. Most of the faces are unknown to me (had to IMDB the ones in the trailer too), the production values are very low compared to Bollywood movies and disagree with a lot of the tropes used in popular movies aimed at the masses. There are some names that stand out and SS Rajamouli is definitely one of those names, after directing the awesome Maghadeera (of which a Hindi version remake is the pipeline) and the original South Indian version of Rowdy Rathore (of which we just posted a trailer). The trailer has been creating quite a buzz since it’s been released and if things keep going the way they are, they might just end up becoming another viral South Indian hit like the Helicopter Ending of Maghadeera (which was featured on The Soup with Joel Mchale- Youtube it), RajneeKanth’s Robot finale (the man who needs to introduction) or Kolaveri Di which reached millions of views on Youtube in a matter of hours.

If you really wanna stay away, why you write reviews ads for south indian movies, what you know is very less about the industries here, you cant just guess them. bollywood movie market is throughout india, so budget will be obiviously more, you are talking about masses, tell me one thing, which one have heavy collection dabaang or 3 idiots??? dude there are many masses regardless its north or south, you cant comment such cheaply on south india, dont know why north people are sick abt south? Narrow mindedness.
Asim. Pls. have through knowledge of film industry in the south. Do not forget that some of the best technicians in the indian film industry are from south india… You cannot just make a statement that the production values… are inferior to bollywood. Insane!!!
bollywood production values are low compared to hollywood ..it doesn’t mean that the dont have any technical values …
bollywood mves vl b released al over india so production cost obviously increases as there vl b profit..
but no producer want 2 get a huge loss …so production cost vl be based on d estimations…
even though south films are released in only one state …there profits are regarded high than that of bollywood films ….check out the south film projects such as gabbar singh ,robo,dookudu,etc…

I like Surya’s work in Kaakha Kaakha and even the original Ghajini, I felt the remakes were better especially Ghajini and the production values and villain in the hindi remake of Kaakha Kaakha was too.
