Casting is coming together for the sequel to Clash of the Titans (imaginatively titled Wrath of the Titans), and Deadline are reporting that Carlos lead Edgar Ramirez has been offered the role of Ares, the God of War.
The actor has been around for almost a decade, showing up in meaty roles in a number of big feature such as Che: Part One, The Bourne Ultimatum and 2005’s Domino, but his highly praised performance in the epic (five hours plus!) tale of Venezuelan terrorist Carlos the Jackal has finally given him the career boast he needed.
Jonathan Liebesman (who has human vs. alien shoot ‘em up fest Battle: Los Angeles on the way) takes over the directorial duties from Louis Leterrier for the sequel to those warring god and mortals.
