When we heard there was a Jumanji reboot in the works our hearts sank and we were filled with dread…… then Dwayne Johnson was cast alongside his Central Intelligence co-star Kevin Hart and suddenly the whole idea became rather more bearable.
Jumanji was originally released in 1995 and saw the late great Robin Williams in the lead role alongside a 13 year old Kirsten Dunst. After stumbling across an old box that had been buried in the ground for years, Alan Parish (Williams) discovers a magical board game called Jumanji which once played will not end until that game is completed. The only problem is that after a roll of the dice, Alan is transported into another realm through full of various jungle nasties. He has to learn to fend off said nasties for years to come until 26 years later the game is found again by another pair of children who help Alan find his way back into the real-world – only bringing much of the jungle with him!

Jumanji caught the imaginations of adults and children alike and now that we’ve had time to reflect on the idea, we’re much more up for a sequel to the 1995 film. That said, it’s a shame the movie has the same name as it’s original counterpart.
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart are joined by British Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Who star Karen Gillan and comedy guru Jack Black with Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher / Sex Tape) taking the directing helm.
The Rock has put a few new images from the shoot on his Instagram profile which are embedded below for your viewing pleasure. As you can see the movie will not be short of action but then when Johnson is involved did you ever expect anything less?
A Fair old while to wait though i’m afraid, the new Jumanji wont be with us until 29th December 2017…. still, we’ve got the Baywatch movie to look forward to so we can get our Dwayne fix!

Jumanji Movie Synopsis
In a brand new Jumanji adventure, the tables are turned as four teenagers are sucked into Jumanji’s world – pitted against rhinos, black mambas and an endless variety of jungle traps and puzzles. To survive, they’ll play as characters from the game: meek Spencer becomes a brave explorer (Dwayne Johnson); hulky jock Fridge becomes a tiny genius (Kevin Hart); It-girl Bethany becomes a bookworm professor (Jack Black); and unathletic Martha becomes an amazonian warrior (Karen Gillan). To beat the game and return to the real world with their lives, they’ll have to start seeing things in an entirely different way.
