Devil Wears Prada Writer Teams With Orci & Kurtzman for Rom-Com

Aline Brosh McKenna has 27 Dresses, The Devil Wears Prada and the forthcoming Rachel McAdams/Harrison Ford movie Morning Gloy to her name and there’s news tonight of her next project.

Last year McKenna met with the team of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, whose recent sterling work with J.J. Abrams and, to a lesser extent, Michael Bay have catapulted the pair high in the Hollywood hills, and the trio conspired to work together and the resulting fruits of their labour are almost ripe to pluck.

McKenna’s script for the Benjamin Mee memoir We Bought A Zoo was updated by Cameron Crowe who will direct with Matt Damon rumoured to be involved in the project and a few months ago word seeped out that McKenna caught the eye of Disney for their live action version of Cinderella so she’s not short of work.

She is jumping in the ring with producing duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to write an as yet untitled rom-com Dreamworks. Here’s the word according to Variety,

Based on an original idea by McKenna, the dramedy will follow the on-off love affairs and friendships among a close circle of friends over two decades.

So far, so vague. But the calibre of those involved makes Untitled Rom-Com #315 worth keeping all available eyes on.

    Epic fail, Jon Lyus.

You do know that Bay put these guys on the map with the first Transformers, right?

And that was wayyy before the lame Trek flick directed by Abrams, who by the way also worked for Bay on Armageddon.

So much for your “lesser extent”.

  2. You missed out the crucial part of the sentence – recent.

TF1 was a far superior film to its dire sequel, and I liked the Star Trek film. Not so much an epic fail, rather a difference of opinion.
