Last night, Marvel held a panel for Netflix’s upcoming Luke Cage series at the San Diego Comic-Con. While Power Man received the majority of the limelight, there were plenty of other surprises with big news on Daredevil and first looks at Iron Fist and The Defenders.
It’s going to be a very busy few years for Marvel Television regardless, with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist all making their respective presences felt on the online streaming service in a big way both before and after they form a superhero team…
10. The Defenders Are Coming In 2017
Earlier this year, Daredevil star Charlie Cox mentioned that the plan was to shoot The Defenders at the end of 2016. That pointed to a 2017 premiere date for the superhero team, but the trailer makes that official.
With season two of The Man Without Fear’s show introducing characters like Elektra and The Punisher and Luke Cage bringing in Misty Knight, some fans have wondered if the roster of the team might end up expanding to include more than just the four heroes.
The trailer certainly doesn’t point to that being the case, as only Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are shown and mentioned by the narrator.
