Interview: David Oyelowo on appearing in Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom

We chat to the Selma actor for one of our film interviews for A United Kingdom

The BAFTA award nominee came to global attention with his role as Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. in Ava DuVernay’s Selma. As well as his role in Disney’s Queen of Katwe 2016 saw David Oyelowo in another leading role.

He appears opposite Rosamund Pike in Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom which is out in the UK on the 25th of November and was featured in our 20 big films still to see in 2016 feature.

The duo appear alongside Tom Felton, Laura Carmichael, Jack Davenport, Jack Lowden and Jessica Oyelowo.

Synopsis

Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana causes an international stir when he marries a white woman from London in the late 1940s.
