The trailers for Cowboys & Aliens (catch them here if you’re off the pace) look like a splendid blend of serious western growling and sure-footed sci-fi action. These latest posters are aiming for a similar mash-up, though the now-typical-but-still-massively-annoying photo-shopping robs them of some of their impact. Daniel Craig seems to have a bit of that “early scenes of Captain America my body isn’t as big as it should be” thing going on and Harrison Ford looks like one side of his face has been grafted on from someone else entirely.

Hey ho. To be frank, I am so very excited about this film, a little bit of a mishandling of a poster isn’t going to do anything to blunt my enthusiasm. Whether we’ll need to enforce the Trade Descriptions Act over the seeming size of that ship overhead, or whether it’s a forced-perspective thing, who can say? It may all be a little po-faced, but it’s still got me pretty excited. Hope you feel the same.

Many thanks to those at Yahoo for the source-iness.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
