Brad Pitt’s next passion project at his Plan B production label is The Big Short, an adaptation of Michael Lewis’ bestselling book of the same name. Pitt will apparently star in the movie alongside both Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Trilogy) and Ryan Gosling (Drive), making this one heck of a handsome cast!

Anchorman director and Ant-Man scribe Adam McKay will write and direct The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, and the non-fiction story delves into the build-up of the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s which as we all know would ultimately lead to the financial crisis of 2007-2010.

There’s no word on when production will begin or a release date as of yet, but this marks something quite new for McKay and has all the makings of an Oscar contender based on the A-List cast and subject matter.

The book follows several key people who played a role in creating the disastrous credit bubble, and Bale, Gosling, and Pitt will likely be playing them, with their roles described as equal in size and importance.

Plan B is making quite a name for itself with dramas like 12 Years a Slave, and Selma, and Pitt has apparently been passionate about getting this one made for quite some time now. The actor/producer was last seen in Fury, while Bale starred in Exodus: Gods and Kings and Gosling has just wrapped The Nice Guys.
