Not happy with dominating one comic book universe, Christian Bale has entered into talks to crossover from DC to Marvel for a role in Taika Waititi’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

At present, which role Bale could be up for is under wraps but one theory circulating would see him cast as Cul, aka the God of Fear who just also happens to be the Uncle of Thor. In the comics, Cul battles the Mighty Thor, who will be portrayed by Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster after she takes up Thor’s hammer Mjolnir.

Waititi will take up the helm once more for ‘Love and Thunder’. Chris Hemsworth will reprise the titular superhero, while Tessa Thompson will be reprising her role from ‘Ragnarok’ as Valkyrie. Natalie Portman is returning to the franchise for the first time since 2013’s ‘Thor: The Dark World.’

This would be the first time Bale has returned to a major franchise since he played the caped crusader, Batman, in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Trilogy’. Some would say he was the best Batman in the whole franchise. Bale was last seen in the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman in 2012’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Bale has since gone on to more serious dramatic roles in his career, going method for his role of Dick Cheney in ‘Vice’ in which he put on a few pounds. Most recently he dropped more than a few pounds to play Ken Miles in ‘Le Mans ’66’ opposite Matt Damon. He also voiced the character of Bagheera in Andy Serkis’ ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’.
