The first teaser trailer set the mood rather brilliantly late last year, and was more recently followed by a full-length trailer that a lot of people felt didn’t quite live up to the hype of the first.
Sony will no doubt hope to win over audiences at the convention. And prior to its appearance this weekend, Yahoo Movies have debuted the new Comic-Con poster / banner, with Moretz front and centre.
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Starring alongside Moretz will be Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Alex Russell.
Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) is directing from a script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee), who of course adapts the original novel by Stephen King.
Carrie will be released in the US on October 18th, in plenty of time for Halloween, with its UK release date somewhat bafflingly set back to 29th November.
