Variety are reporting that Brody wants to reinvent himself as an action hero and has signed up for the lead role in ‘Predators’, the prequel to the movie made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987.
Variety: Brody and his Paradigm reps lobbied hard for the role. Fox has high hopes to spring a new franchise, and Brody has signed options to return for future installments, sources said.
I have no doubt he’ll do well in the role as every other film I’ve seen him in, he’s excelled in. Predators also stars Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walt Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Louiz Ozawa. It’s directed by Nimród Antal and is scheduled for release July 2010.
Brody's a great actor. I am sure he can pull of a bad ass if he wants to.
Being a bad ass doesn't always involve bulk. I mean…. they all have guns. It's not like he going to wrestle with the predators.

This guy blows. The whole cast except for Danny Trejo will make this movie look like crap. And the director was responsible for the godawful Vacancy and Armored. Really embarasses me to have watched and actually admired the original movie with Schwarzenegger. Two crappy Aliens vs. Predator movies later, you think they would've learned. Plus Terminator without Scharzenegger didn't work either. WHEN WILL YOU LEARN HOLLYOOD?
