Also known as MS One: Maximum Security and Lock-Out, this Luc Besson-produced and -co-written sci-fi action film looks pretty damn impressive. We’ve seen two trailers for the film already last year, and they look very promising. Fans of Besson’s increasingly diverse work shouldn’t be disappointed.

We’ve now got an awesome new trailer to share with you, courtesy of IGN Movies, ahead of its release this spring. The film marks the feature directorial debut of James Mather and Stephen St. Leger, who share screenwriting duties with Besson, produced under Besson’s EuropaCorp banner.

“A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”

The cast is led by Guy Pearce, with Maggie Grace returning to work with Besson for the first of two films this year (the other being Taken 2, reprising her role from the first film), and a supporting cast that includes Peter Stormare and Joseph Gilgun, who looks absolutely brilliant playing a total psychopath (fans of Misfits or Shane Meadows’ This Is England will recognise him as Rudy Wade or Woody, respectively).

Odd though it may sound, it’s a little unclear what it might be called here in the UK. The source of the new trailer is the UK edition of IGN, referring to it as the ‘domestic trailer’ for Lockout (note, no hyphen, which it’s previously had). IMDb, on the other hand, refers to it as MS One: Maximum Security. So keep your eyes peeled for both names; hopefully we’ll have a better idea for sure in the coming weeks. Either way, this is going to be a lot of fun.

This new trailer brings in some ridiculously impressive new visuals and scope of the film, giving us an even better look at the action and the special effects that we can expect from it. The concept certainly seems both a little crazy and intriguing, so I’m really looking forward to its 13th April release here in the UK. For now, here’s the great new trailer for your viewing pleasure. Besson is always a safe bet to rely on to bring us something awesome, and this looks to be no different. A great way to start the week.
