Sam Mendes’ currently untitled James Bond 24 has found its first Bond Girl in the form of Blue is the Warmest Colour star Léa Seydoux according to a new report. The beautiful French actress joins a cast which includes returning Skyfall cast members Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris.

The movie starts shooting in six weeks and Seydoux is expected to join her fellow cast members for a script rehearsal in November. There’s no word on who she will play, but her role is described as a “femme fatale”.

The site claims that Seydoux is expected to go through a number of costume, make-up and camera tests over the next few weeks in order to allow Sam Mendes and the James Bond 24’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to settle on what her look will be in the follow-up to the $1 billion grossing Skyfall.

Seydoux is of course best known for Blue Is The Warmest Colour, but she has starred in a number of French language films and has briefly appeared in Mission Impossible: Ghost Patrol and Inglourious Basterds.

Rumour has it that James Bond 24 was originally searching for an actress of Scandinavian origin, but that was scrapped in preference of the French Palme d’Or winner when Mendes was impressed by what he saw. It’s also mentioned that the team working on the movie are scouring Rome for some Italian heavies too!

Seydoux is a fantastic actress, so here’s hoping she gets more to do than many past Bond girls!
