For those of you treading disbelief, I feel it is my duty to assure you that April Fools’ Day was indeed last month.
Though it may scream practical joke, it appears that Dominion: Dinosaurs vs. Aliens is going to make the jump from mad cheese dream to the big screen, with Men in Black 3 mastermind Barry Sonnenfield describing the chance to combine his childhood obsession with his professional bread and butter “a dream come true” (via Deadline).
Joining him on this bizarre project, which will start life as a graphic novel also written by Sonnenfeld, are Liquid Comics’ Arnold Rifkin and Sharad Devarajan – who will act as producers – and executive producer Gotham (best name ever) Chopra.
The graphic novel will concentrate on a prehistoric battle being waged between invading aliens and unexpectedly intelligent dinosaurs, and will enter print later this year.
So what do you think, humble yet exasperated reader? Best idea ever or one high-concept vs. movie too far.
