While we may have seen a teaser poster for the movie, little to nothing is known about what we should expect from Shane Black’s take on the Predator franchise. While it’s thought to be a follow-up to the originals rather than a reboot, that hasn’t been confirmed, but Arnold Scwharzenegger eyeing a return may confirm that it picks up where those left off.

Schwarzenegger’s Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer hasn’t been seen since Predator was released in 1987, so bringing him back would certainly be an interesting decision for this movie.

“I haven’t talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon,” the actor confirmed during a recent appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival. “Just as soon as I’m finished with this and ‘The Apprentice’ and all this stuff. But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away.”

So, nothing is set in stone just yet, but it would be a lot of fun to see the actor back in one of the roles which helped make him an icon. Schwarzenegger never appeared in any of the Predator sequels, so this would be a first for him with this particular franchise (returning to the world of Terminator proved to be something of a mistake after the awful Genisys).

Shane Black actually starred alongside the actor in Predator, and has co-written the screenplay for The Predator with Fred Dekker. It’s set to be released on March 2nd, 2018.
