Greg-KinnearThe cast for the return of Ron Burgundy is becoming increasingly awesome. Anchorman: The Legend Continues is due to hit theatres at the end of the year, and we’ve got very high hopes for the comedy sequel.

Kristen Wiig was the first to be cast alongside the original cast, all of whom will be reprising their roles from the first film.

And then earlier in the month, just before production began, we heard that Harrison Ford had joined the cast, and would be starring as a legendary newscaster for the upcoming comedy

Now Deadline are reporting that Greg Kinnear and Josh Lawson have boarded Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which is currently shooting out in Atlanta.

Plot details are understandably being kept under wraps, but it’s good to know that Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate, and David Koechner will all be back for more.

Adam McKay is back behind the camera, and he’s directing from a script he co-wrote with Ferrell, with the two producing alongside Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick.

Lawson has been making a name for himself recently as one of the leading stars of Showtime’s House of Lies, alongside Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell. He was recently seen alongside Ferrell in last year’s The Campaign. And he’ll soon be starring alongside Adam Brody, Amber Tamblyn, and Lauren Miller in Growing Up and Other Lies, another comedy which has a lot of potential.

Kinnear is perhaps best known for his roles in Little Miss Sunshine and his Oscar-nominated performance in As Good as It Gets. He’s currently developing Rake, a new pilot for Fox, which he will both star in and co-executive produce. He’s set to be seen in Stuck in Love (previously titled Writers) and The English Teacher this year, both of which I’m really looking forward to seeing.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set to be released on 20th December in the US, and we’re rooting for the same release date here in the UK. This is going to be a lot of fun. And because you can’t watch this too many times, here’s the brilliant first teaser trailer that got the ball rolling.
