Jean-Luc Godard once said that all you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun. In this case all Roger Spottiswoode needed was a guy and a cat; a street cat named Bob, in this case.

Spottiswoode’s film is based on the best selling book on the real life tale of James Bowen. Its subtitle is How one man and his cat found hope on the streets so you have a fair idea of what’s in store in this film.

Here’s a lengthier synopsis.

Based on the international best selling book. The true feel good story of how James Bowen, a busker and recovering drug addict, had his life transformed when he met a stray ginger cat.

The film is out on the 4th of November and risks being hailed on bus adverts as a ‘feel-good hit’ but Treadaway is one of our favourite actors and the director has a long history behind the camera so there’s plenty to look forward to.

In this world exclusive clip Treadaway, as Bowen, shares a tender moment, a reflection on his place in the world and how he managed to get there.
