Eli Roth, the man behind Hostel and Cabin Fever, returns in front of the camera this year in Aftershock, which has just been announced as part of the Midnight Madness section in this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Starring alongside him will be Andrea Osvárt and Ariel Levy, as well as the increasingly-diverse Selena Gomez, who we’re really looking forward to seeing in Spring Breakers as well.

“In the middle of a night of wild partying, a hapless American tourist (Hostel director Eli Roth) and his friends are suddenly plunged into a living hell when a powerful earthquake rips through the coastal town of Valparaiso, Chile.”

Nicolás Lopéz is behind the camera, directing from a script he co-wrote with Roth and Guillermo Amoedo, who Roth has been working with on his upcoming The Green Inferno.

Aftershock will be debuting at Toronto this September, where it will be seeking distribution. And with such great talent involved like Roth and Gomez, we’re sure that this will be a very hot property at the festival. As usual with these great first images, you can click to enlarge.
