Sony Pictures UK has dropped a gripping new trailer for ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,’ offering the most striking evolution yet in the iconic universe first created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. Director Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels) takes the reins for this bold next chapter, expanding the mythology while fearlessly flipping the world of ’28 Years Later’ on its head.
Set nearly three decades after the original outbreak, the film continues the epic saga with Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), whose unexpected and shocking new relationship sets off a chain of events with consequences that could reshape what remains of civilisation. Meanwhile, Spike (Alfie Williams) crosses paths with the ruthless Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), leading to an encounter that spirals into a relentless nightmare he cannot outrun.
But in the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the most dangerous force lurking in the shadows. Humanity—or what’s left of it—proves far more unpredictable, unforgiving, and terrifying. As new alliances form and old moral codes disintegrate, survival means confronting a truth more disturbing than the virus itself: the greatest monsters are the survivors.
Directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Alex Garland, the film features a powerful cast including Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry.
