Taking the Midnight Madness People’s Choice Award at TIFF this month, Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths is destined to be a fan-favourite, and there’s a lot of anticipation for its arrival on the big screen later this year.

The film sees McDonagh reunite with Colin Farrell following the Oscar-nominated In Bruges, with an all-star cast joining Farrell, headed up by Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurlyenko, Christopher Walken, and Tom Waits, and you can read our TIFF review here.

So far, we’ve seen plenty of great things – the first trailer, seven character posters, and a new red-band trailer all in the space of the past month – and now Apple have given us the first clip from the film, focusing on Farrell and Rockwell.

“Written and Directed by Oscar(R)-winner Martin McDonagh, the comedy Seven Psychopaths follows a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu. Co-starring Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Zeljko Ivanek.”

Seven Psychopaths will be released in the US in just a few weeks on 12th October, before heading to the UK for a 7th December release. The film has also been selected to screen in competition at this year’s BFI London Film Festival, and if you’re going to the festival this year, this looks like a must-see whilst you’re in town. For now, here’s the first clip from the film. Enjoy.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
