James Bond will be getting his IMAX debut in Skyfall, and with the release just around the corner, the marketing has been gearing up brilliantly in recent weeks.
We saw a new trailer drop this morning, followed by a brilliant PR stunt, which I highly recommend watching (the trumpet sounds excellent).
Over in the US, viewers going to the 0:01 IMAX screening on 8th November will be treated to an exclusive, limited edition print, and now that poster has been revealed online.
“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Daniel Craig reprises his role in the lead alongside an all-star cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.
Sam Mendes, the Oscar-winning director of American Beauty, is making his Bond debut behind the camera, with a script penned by Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).
The early reviews have been very promising – you can read our review here – and I can’t wait for it to land.
Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres in the UK next Friday, 26th October. In the US, its IMAX release will arrive one day early on 8th November – and you can click here to find participating cinemas offering the free print give-away – before going wide across the country on 9th November.
