Warner Bros. Pictures have released the first official trailer and poster for Magic Mike, an exposé of actor Channing Tatum’s former life as a male stripper.

Directed by soon-to-be-retired Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven), Magic Mike stars Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Cody Horn, Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Riley Keough.

The film, scripted by relative newcomer Reid Carolin (Earth Made of Glass), centers on a cocky nonentity (Pettyfer) who, after finding a job at risqué club Xquisite, is taken under the wing of a more experienced colleague (Tatum) and taught the art of stripping.

Unlike what you may expect from a film centered on such a taboo profession, Magic Mike looks to showcase the companionship felt by the performers, as well as the horrors they must face to make a living. This being all under the watchful eye of Soderbergh, one of the most revered filmmakers of our generation.

Magic Mike will make its way into U.K. cinemas on July 13. Watch the trailer and see the poster below:
