Crowds gathered in Leicester Square this evening for the much-awaited premiere for The Expendables 2, and we were fortunate enough to be on the red carpet with the chance of speaking to some of the most celebrated action heroes of all time, and at the very least, get a glimpse of action royalty in the flesh.
In attendance were leading stars themselves Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme, as well Brit’s Jason Statham and Scott Adkins – the latter pair evidently thrilled to be back promoting their latest project on home soil – a sentiment echoed by director Simon West.
We spoke to West about handling such an immense cast, as well as Adkins on what is was like sharing the screen with his childhood idols. We also discussed the action genre with pioneering producer Avi Lerner and the thrills of being a villain with the muscles from Brussels himself, Mr. Van Damme. We also find out that Lerner has Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood in his sights for The Expendables 3 which would be rather interesting!
