12 Episodes of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror Coming to Netflix

0

We heard a rumour about this happening earlier this month, but it’s now been confirmed!

The amazing, insane, and often downright disturbing Black Mirror is indeed on the way to Netflix, with twelve episodes set to debut on the online streaming service in the near future (the actual date has yet to be confirmed). Believe it or not, we’ve only had six episodes and a Christmas special so far, so the fact that Netflix are working on twelve is a huge deal.

Whether they’re going to debut all at the same time or over a couple of years isn’t clear at this stage, but series creator Charlie Brooker is writing all of them and will serve as an executive producer alongside Annabel Jones, so Black Mirror is obviously still in great hands.

“It’s all very exciting — a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable,” Brooker said today. “Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that Black Mirror feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true.”

Black Mirror’s arrival on Netflix is what increased the show’s profile, particularly in America. What this means for Channel 4 is unclear, but these episodes can’t get here soon enough…
