5. Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance
Nicolas Cage’s first try at Ghost Rider was appalling, but Sony still thought it would be a good idea to bring him back as the supernatural superhero for a second time. With Crank directors Neveldine/Taylor at the helm. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? However, the trailers and clips released before the sequel made its debut actually made it look like it might at least be fun…that obviously wasn’t the case! Thanks to Nic Cage’s most hammy performance yet and a laughably bad script, not even some strong special effects and fast-paced action scenes could save this mess. In fact, even though Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance turned a small profit, the critical reaction was so terrible that Sony ended up giving the rights back to Marvel Studios!
