Daredevil

2015 will see the release of a 13-episode Daredevil series on online streaming service, Netflix. The Man Without Fear will be joined shortly after by fellow street level superheroes Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage before the quartet are brought together as The Defenders for an event series.

Following yesterday’s announcement that Boardwalk Empire and Stardust actor Charlie Cox will play Daredevil (click here for further details), we thought that now would be a good time to explore some of the characters and story elements that we would like to see incorporated into the show.

10. The Punisher

Punisher

Marvel quietly regained the rights to The Punisher a couple of years ago, and after a string of unsuccessful solo outings, the violent vigilante has remained on the shelf ever since. It’s hard to imagine Frank Castle finding a place alongside the likes of Captain America and Thor on the big screen, making it a little surprising that he wasn’t among those given their own series on Netflix.

Perhaps an appearance in Daredevil might be for the best given their friction filled relationship and rivalry, thereby leaving the door open to The Punisher getting his own show somewhere down the line. Ghost Rider and Blade are also now once again held by Marvel Studios, and both would fit in nicely in “The Defenders”, so appearances from this trio would definitely be a nice bonus!
