There’s no denying that Bryan Singer’s first two efforts in the X-Men universe had some solid fight scenes, but he never really brought the action many fans of the comic books expected from characters like these. Thankfully, improved CGI and a much bigger budget (rumour has it that this is Fox’s most expensive production since Avatar) means that that won’t be an issue here, as the last few seconds of the trailer feature both Sunspot and Colossus battling out with Sentinels and an awful lot more besides. Even picky comic book fans who aren’t thrilled about some of the liberties being taken with the source material will surely at least be able to get on board with moments like these, but here’s hoping that the story is ultimately as strong as the visuals…
