4. Captain America, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
A battered and bruised Nick Fury (possibly as a result of his earlier run in with The Winter Soldier) seems to be acknowledging the fact that Captain America is no longer taking orders from S.H.I.E.L.D. at this point in the movie. Although he’s more than likely just in charge for this particular mission, it does make you wonder.
After all, in the comic books, Steve Rogers becomes the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. – while Bucky takes up the mantle of Captain America – and actually dons the same dark blue “Super Soldier” costume seen throughout this trailer. It’s hard to imagine this particular version of Steve Rogers wanting to take on such a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it might just leave the door open for it to happen at some point. Food for thought!
