With the casting of Tom Holland as your new friendly cinematic Spider-Man we present this article from earlier in the year looking at how the new webslinger can integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There had been rumours and leaked emails which suggested it might, but sceptical fans still couldn’t imagine it ever truly going down. Now know that Spider-Man will indeed be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a million fanboy’s wishes have become a reality.

The announcement has left us with a lot of questions, particularly in regards to how this deal is going to work and how long it will last for. Most importantly, is it ultimately going to save the Spider-Man franchise? Kevin Feige’s involvement might make you think so, but Sony still have creative control is concerning.

Without getting too stressed about all that though, there’s a lot of fun to be had imagining the new possibilities that the Marvel/Sony deal has created for Spider-Man over the next few years. So, now that the iconic superhero is officially a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, here are 10 things we need to see.

10. Iron Spider Costume

Spider-Man Civil War

It’s hard to imagine what even Marvel could do to improve the costume from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, based on some of the “Sony Hack” emails from last year and the fact that the character is expected to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, there’s a very good chance they’ll be giving him an upgrade. That will come in the form of his Iron Spider suit.

It was created by Tony Stark and given to Peter Parker during the events of Civil War, providing him with many new abilities including four mechanical spider-arms, a HUD in the mask, and the ability to glide for long distances. Putting the next Spider-Man in this costume would clearly signal a new day for the character on the big screen.
