Even if you’ve never picked up a comic book, you will have surely seen Aquaman ridiculed in everything from Family Guy to The Big Bang Theory. Well, back in 2011, DC’s “The New 52” relaunch did what many thought was impossible; it made Arthur Curry cool again! Acknowledging the fact that the citizens of the DC Universe view the hero as a joke, writer Geoff Johns showed just how great a hero Aquaman really is, developing a strong female supporting character for him in the form of his lover Mera and an Atlantean supporting cast which could easily make this the Game of Thrones of superhero movies!
