Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is playing in cinemas worldwide, fans have inevitably starting dissecting the movie to see what they can learn about what it reveals about both the past and future of a Galaxy Far, Far Away (even we’ve broken down the biggest questions that it left us with, and you can check that out by clicking right here).

In a movie as big as this – it’s already broken a number of notable box office records – there are inevitably going to be a very long list of Easter Eggs which make repeat viewings essential, and you just know that’s something Disney are pretty happy about right now! Of course, watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens again and again is hardly a chore.

Regardless, we’ve gone through the movie to pick out the best and hardest to spot Easter Eggs which you may have missed the first time around. From cameos to nods to the Expanded Universe (yes, really!) and a few major hints about the future of the franchise, these are the best secrets which Star Wars: The Force Awakens has so far revealed to us.

10. A Nod To Darth Plagueis?

Is this an Easter Egg or a desperate attempt by some fans to make sense of who Supreme Leader Snoke is? I’m still not entirely sure, but it’s certainly an interesting theory. There are those that believe there’s a similarity between the music played during a scene from Revenge of the Sith in which Palpatine tells Anakin Skywalker about his decision to murder his Master Darth Plagueis and the “Snoke” track from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Listening to them both, there is definitely a distinct similarity, and this kind of easy to miss Easter Egg was likely hidden in the movie to tease us with the possibility of Plagueis having survived and now made his return following the death of the apprentice who betrayed him…
