Scrubs deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest comedies of all-time. Running from 2001 – 2010, it focused on a likeable and quirky cast of characters set in the fictiona Sacred Heart teaching hospital and starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes.
Over the years, the series paid homage to a number of TV shows and movies; some were obvious and others were a little harder to spot, but all of them were either hilarious or surprisingly touching.
If you’ve never watched Scrubs, you’ve missed out, and following the release of Braff’s latest movie Wish I Was Here as director and star, we decided to take a look back at some of the show’s best references and parodies of some of our favourites movies. Have we missed any? Let us know in the comments section!

When Jordan goes to visit her mother for the week, J.D. can’t help but wonder what his mentor will get up to when he’s left home alone. What follows is a fantasy which features Dr. Cox acting out the famous scene from Risky Business that saw Tom Cruise slide along the floor in nothing but his shirt, underwear and socks.
However, before Perry is able to get down to Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger, he’s joined by J.D., Turk, and perhaps most horrifyingly, an uninvited Todd wearing one his banana hammocks (“Fellas, why you wearing such giant underwear?”). In the words of J.D.: “Sometimes you’ve just gotta say, ‘What the fudge!'”
