As James Bond Day comes to a close, a new trailer has been released to celebrate the festivities, set to the tune of the newly-unveiled theme song by Adele, which was unveiled at 0:07 last night.

Daniel Craig reprises his role once more in the lead as James Bond, and is joined by a fantastic cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Whishaw, Albert Finney, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.

“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Sam Mendes (American Beauty) makes his Bond debut behind the camera, directing from a script by Bond frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).

Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres on 26th October here in the UK. The US will see it arrive in IMAX theatres on 8th November, a day before opening wide on 9th November. All we’ve seen so far suggests it’s set to be one of the best films of the year, and with a newly-unveiled, classic theme song by Adele, it’s certainly entered at least the Best Original Song race in the coming Oscar season to my mind. For now, here’s the new trailer, set to the wonderful voice of Adele. Enjoy.
