Hugh-Jackman-Michael-Fassbender-Evan-Peters-and-James-McAvoy-in-X-Men:-Days-of-Future-PastQuicksilver and The Scarlet Witch are two of a select handful of characters whose rights are held by both Marvel and one of the studios they licensed some of their characters to several years ago (in this instance, 20th Century Fox). The former will make his big screen debut in next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, played by American Horror Story star Evan Peters.

Meanwhile, another version of the mutant speedster will be joined by his sister in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron next year with Kick-Ass’ Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing Pietro Maximoff alongside Godzilla’s Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda.

Today, the first image of Peters as Quicksilver has been released (via CBM) and it’s fair to say that he bears little resemblance to his comic book counterpart. Also below are two new hi-res stills featuring Omar Sy as Bishop and another with Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Lucas Till as Havok, with the new shot of Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) coming from EW. While fans are used to the X-Men franchise taking certain liberties with the mutant characters by now, the fact that geek God Joss Whedon is also working on bringing a version of Quicksilver to the big screen is sure to lead to comparisons.

How do you feel about the character’s new look for X-Men: Days of Future Past?
