Last month, we were lucky enough to pay a visit to the X-Mansion in Canada (you can read our breakdown of that by clicking here), and while we were there, we got to catch up with X-Men: Apocalypse star Carolina Bartczak, the actress who played Magneto’s wife in the film.

In the video below, she talks in detail about working alongside both director Bryan Singer and co-star Michael Fassbender, the challenges which came with shooting Madga and her daughter’s harrowing death scene, and her contribution to Fassbender’s scenes in Polish.

X-Men: Apocalypse is available on Digital HD from today & on Blu-ray™, 4K Ultra HD & DVD from 7th November, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In the comic books, Madga is the mother of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, something the way the X-Men prequel franchise has played out obviously made impossible. Asked if she was disappointed by not being given the opportunity to explore that, Bartczak explained: “I would have loved to, obviously, got to be the mother of Quicksilver, but Evan Peters is like five years younger than me, so I was like, “Eh, I don’t think that’s going to happen!”

As for which comic book character she’d play given the chance, the actress said: “I would love to play any mutant essentially. I want to learn how to do some cool sword moves or be on big strings and thrown around. I would love to do anything that has a bit of action in it!”
