World-War-Z-PosterWe’re less than three months from World War Z landing on the big screen, and it’s starting to look more and more like Paramount have got a big hit on their hands. The stakes are high for the studio, with high production costs and expensive re-shoots putting the budget up higher than anticipated.

But with Brad Pitt taking the lead in this zombie blockbuster, we’re expecting the box office numbers to be big.

Following the epic first trailer we saw last year, and the Super Bowl TV Spot that landed last month, the second full trailer has debuted online, along with a new poster, giving us a greater look at the apocalyptic chaos we have coming our way in a few months’ time.

United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Starring alongside Pitt will be Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Lucy Aharish, Matthew Fox, Bryan Cranston, Abigail Hargrove, Sterling Jerins, and David Morse.

Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Mattew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom), based on the original novel by Max Brooks, with Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) doing re-writes for the re-shoots.

Whilst the first trailer did a great job of showing the blockbuster side to the film, featuring little in the way of dialogue, this new trailer does an equally good job of also showing that it’s not just 100% zombies with zero plot. Paramount are reportedly eyeing World War Z as a potential trilogy, so if things go well this summer, we could well be looking at more films further down the line.

World War Z will be landing on 21st June in the UK and US, and I can’t wait for it to hit. Here’s the brilliant new trailer to give you a taste of what to expect. Enjoy.
