It’s almost time for Patty Jenkins to come and save the downtrodden DCU with her take on Wonder Woman. Though the films of Zack Snyder have been visual spectacles the uneven tone and gloomy sensibilities of the Batman, Superman and Suicide Squad film have made the wider cinematic universe difficult to engage with.

Not to say they haven’t made their money back, the marketing juggernaut which carried them forth meant that was always going to happen. However with Wonder Woman less than a month away hopes are high that DC will have a breakout film to set the light-hearted tone for the films to come.
