White-House-Down-PosterRoland Emmerich returns to blockbuster territory once more this summer with White House Down, the year’s second actioner centred on an attack on the White House.

Antoine Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen has been a strong presence at the box office this season. And there’s every reason to expect Emmerich’s White House Down will bring in even bigger numbers, with Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, and Maggie Gyllenhaal leading the all-star cast.

The first trailer arrived late last month, giving us an awesome first look at the film. And now two new posters have surfaced online, promising the film will be every bit as explosive as you’d expect.

In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

Tatum, Foxx, and Gyllenhaal are joined by a great cast, led by led by Jason Clarke, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Jake Weber, Lance Reddick, and Joey King.

Emmerich is directing from a script by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man).

Our man, Stefan, was lucky enough to attend a special footage preview screening ahead of the film’s release in a few months’ time, at which Emmerich himself was in attendance. And you can read our footage report here if you missed it a few weeks back.

White House Down will be released in the US on June 28th, with its UK release date set a little later in the year for 6th September. For now, here are the latest posters, which you can click through to enlarge.
