The Dutch-born Rutger Hauer is a firm favourite with genre fans, and is somewhat of a grandfatherly figure to fantasy film these days, having lent his dark and brooding persona to a number of memorable roles, most notably the replicant with a humanistic side, Roy Batty, in Ridley Scott’s seminal sci-fi, Blade Runner.

The 67 year-old is back with a vengeance on cinema screens this week with the future blood-soaked neo-grindhouse classic, Hobo with a Shotgun, and he kindly took time out from his rampage and put down his firearm to chat with us about the film and his decisions to come aboard this uniquely twisted motion picture.

Here’s the interview, which contains Rutger Hauer and swearing.
