Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to have a major presence at tomorrow’s Warner Bros. panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, but a piece of very interesting news has slipped out tonight via Deadline.

Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio joined Batman Vs. Superman as it was then known pretty soon after Ben Affleck was cast as the Caped Crusader, rewriting David S. Goyer’s (Man of Steel) initial draft of the script.

However, after he “absolutely crushed” that movie, the Academy Award winning scribe is now being courted by Warner Bros. to also write Justice League for them. That is the DC Comics version of The Avengers as it brings together characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Aquaman.

Many of those roles have actually already been cast, and rumour has it that Justice League will actually shoot almost as soon as work on Batman V Superman (which is currently set for a 2016 release) finishes.

There’s no mention of how far into negotiations both parties are, but with Zack Snyder already confirmed to direct Justice League, this is a good sign that Warner Bros. are finally getting behind the project. In fact, the site goes on to say that it’s the “highest priority” for new studio managers Greg Silverman and Sue Kroll.
