This is a rather fantastic idea and it’s great to see one of the bigger studios embracing technology which is going to allow more people to see work they’ve produced. Warner Bros. have sent over the press release (see below) announcing a brand new download service which will allow you to read classic movie scripts on your Kindle, Apple iBook enabled device or NOOK.

They’re calling the device ‘Inside the Script’ and not only will the text be viewable on these devices, but it’ll also show you real cuttings from the original scripts as you read along. On top of that, you’ll also be linked through to clips from the movies using hyper-links located throughout much of the script that you’re reading at the time. It really is a wonderfully interactive experience and like i said, it’s great to see such a big studio getting behind a project like this an investing money in scripts their archive.

Available now for iBookstore, Kindle and NOOK by Barnes & Noble, “Inside the Script” is a series of highly illustrated eBooks that contain the film’s actual shooting script, rare materials from the Warner Bros. Corporate Archive and much more.  The first series of “Inside the Script” titles are based on timeless, cinematic treasures including “Casablanca,” “Ben-Hur,” “An American in Paris” and “North by Northwest.”

Read on for the full press release which has much more information on what you can expect from the service. You can follow the Warner Bros. Twitter @WBDigitalDist. “Inside the Script” releases are now available for iBookstore, Kindle and NOOK for £6.49 per title.
