Ben-Foster-Toby-Kebbell-and-more-sign-on-for-WarcraftLegendary has been developing a World of Warcraft movie for some time now, and it’s finally coming along nicely, with director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) set to begin production next month.

One of the big question marks about the film has been who Jones would cast, and now the studio has announced the first round of official casting news.

Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, and Rob Kazinsky are the first to sign on to the project, with Dominic Cooper reportedly in final talks to join them.

Jones is directing from a script first penned by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), with the director himself doing a rewrite after coming on board to helm the blockbuster, following Sam Raimi’s exit last year.

Charles Roven (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel) and Thomas Tull (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) are producing the blockbuster. And under the hands of someone like Jones, and with a source material as popular as the video games, you can be sure that Warcraft has the potential to pull a huge audience.

Warcraft is currently set to be released on March 11th, 2016, kicking off the spring blockbuster season nicely.
