Elizabeth-Banks-and-James-Marsden-in-Walk-of-ShameIf this first trailer for Walk of Shame is anything to go by, Elizabeth Banks’ return to the world of comedy films is going to be a lot of fun.

It’s been far too long since we last saw Banks really take the lead in a comedy like this, and bringing what is in essence a female take to the likes of The Hangover sounds like a winning formula to me, possibly even one that could launch a bit of an unexpected franchise here.

Following the poster debut for the film yesterday, Focus World has released the first trailer over on Yahoo Movies. And whilst it’s not strictly red-band, it does use a five-letter word beginning with B, so it may be best not watch this if you’re at work.

After losing an audition for her dream job, an aspiring Los Angeles TV news anchor goes out for an uncharacteristic night of partying. She awakes in a stranger’s bed to a phone message from her agent telling her the job is hers, if she can make it across town by 5 pm. Stranded in an unknown area without money, a phone, and a car, she embarks on a series of misadventures as she races to the most important job interview of her life.

James Marsden stars opposite Banks in the male lead, with Gillian Jacobs and Sarah Wright Olsen completing the ensemble.

Steven Brill (Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds) directs from his own script, with Sidney Kimmel producing.

Walk of Shame will be released in the US on April 25th. Still no word yet on a UK release date, but here’s to hoping it will be arriving on our shores in the spring as well.
